The Grand équipement documentaire (GED) is the Campus Condorcet research library. It was designed by Elizabeth de Portzamparc and is managed by the Région Île-de-France.
The building lies at the heart of campus, at one corner of the Cours des Humanités, and will offer consultation spaces and 1,400 study spaces to researchers. It will be open to eligible community members 7/7 and 24/24, with on-campus residents having priority
The ground floor will be open to the city and will encourage public engagement with the building, particularly in its event spaces:
The Forum, where exhibitions and demonstrations may be held
The Interface, a room dedicated to living research
The 50-seat Auditorium
The Open-space, an area for commingling and outreach
A cafeteria
A bookshop
The collections, archives, group study spaces, and services will be accessible via the upper floors. The building will seat 1,400 people indoors and outdoors, for individual or group study, and in a variety of locations including:
