Designed by the architect Pierre-Louis Faloci, this building houses the research teams of L'École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS).

Located at the intersection of the rue du Pilier and the cours des Humanités, just moments from the Front Populaire metro, the building can house 540 researchers in private and shared offices. It also houses EHESS’s classes and events in its four seminar rooms. The interior and hanging gardens and the pond make it an enjoyable place to relax while enjoying the park and the city alike.

The Architect’s vision

The angle of the EHESS building increases progressively on all sides, creating the possibility of a hanging garden in addition to the interior garden. It’s a matter of using this geometric shape to provide a permanent source of vertical light and avoid the effect of Hausmann’s interior courtyards. - Pierre-Louis Faloci Architecte
